Learners with the following tax filing status can use the Data Retrieval Tool when filling out the FAFSA:
• Single
• Married Filing Jointly

Learners who use the following tax filing status cannot use the Data Retrieval Tool when filling out the FAFSA:
• Head of Household
• Married Filing Separately

NOTE: The IRS DRT is not available for the 2017-2018 FAFSA.
